Pasalnya, Adobe Systems Inc meluncurkan software baru Flash Player versi ponsel bertajuk Flash Lite 3. Disebutkan, produsen ponsel Finlandia, Nokia serta NTT DoCoMo Inc dari Jepang akan memakai aplikasi Flash Lite 3 ini dalam ponsel-ponsel anyar mereka. Gary Kovacs, marketing unit mobile Adobe pun mengklaim bahwa Flash Lite 3 memiliki kemajuan performa signifikan dan tak beda jauh dengan versi komputer.

Nantinya, Adobe juga berencana merilis software Flash yang bisa digunakan secara simultan baik untuk perangkat mobile maupun komputer. "Mungkin masih perlu beberapa tahun mewujudkannya. Kami akan melakukannya sekitar tiga tahun mendatang," ungkap Gary seperti dikutip detikINET dari Reuters, Selasa (2/10/2007).

Adobe mengklaim lebih dari 300 juta ponsel telah diperlengkapi dengan Flash versi terdahulu. Di samping itu, dinyatakan pula bahwa software Flash telah diinstall di lebih dari 98 persen komputer, juga digunakan secara virtual di seluruh situs video online populer macam YouTube.

Berkaitan dengan peluncuran Flash Lite 3 ini, lembaga pengembangan software Nokia yaitu Nokia Forum akan membantu Adobe dengan merilis komunitas untuk menolong desainer Flash. Hal ini juga berhubungan dengan terjunnya Nokia pada dunia multimedia termasuk dalam ranah video, musik dan juga game.

"Flash Lite 3 akan memampukan kami menghantarkan konten yang lebih kaya pada konsumen seperti video dan ringtone animasi," tandas kepala Forum Nokia, Lee Epting.
